Nestled in the northwest North Carolina foothills, the town of Elkin is home to a bold and innovative school system. Elkin City Schools reflect the rich culture and tradition of the Yadkin Valley region. Our student body mirrors the diverse population of the area. We pride ourselves on the academic achievement of our students as well as their participation in a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
Elkin is served by three public schools. In all schools, a low pupil-teacher ratio is a big bonus. Individualized attention and consistent guidance benefit the students, who also reap the more subtle benefits of distance form large city problems like guns in the schools, gangs and widespread drug use.
The town of Elkin and the surrounding Yadkin Valley region provide a wholesome and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and their families. All three of the Elkin City Schools are within easy walking distance to each other, to historic downtown Elkin, and to our beautiful municipal park and recreation center.
