The weather is another reason people move to Elkin. Although the area enjoys four distinct seasons, temperatures are mild year round. The area also enjoys sunshine for about 210 days a year. The spring is warm, revitalizing and refreshing. The summer temperatures are comfortable, relaxing and perfect for outdoor activities , with average temperature around 75-80 degrees. Autumn is cool, colorful and vibrant. The winter brings colder temperatures, averaging about 42 degrees, with the rare snowfall, but the kids get to enjoy one or two snow days each year.
