As of 2008, Friendship Motor Speedway has returned to its red-clay roots. Friendship, a 4/10-mile track, was carved from pasture land on the outskirts of Elkin in 1982 but was sold and paved in 2003. Phil Hall of Mount Airy and Dennis Wood of Boonville, veterans in dirt-track racing, leased the track earlier this year and started converting it back to dirt.

OVAL DIRT TRACK

Nestled in the quaint farming country of Mocksville, NC just on the outside of historic Winston-Salem, Farmington Dragway makes for an absolutely beautiful facility. Plenty of lush greenery and miles upon miles of rolling hills sets the tone for the track name that says it all, The Farm.

Wilkesboro Raceway Park

Mooresville Dragway located in "Race City USA" has been a weekly fixture of southwest Rowan County, NC since 1959. Starting out in the early days of drag racing as a "dirt" surface, it's revolved into one IHRA's premier 1/8th race complex. It has maintained it's down to earth family atmosphere due to the fact that it has been owned by the Leazer family for over fifty years. Mooresville Dragway has the record for being one of the longest running Saturday night drag strips in the country.
