Tucked away amidst those magnificent mountain hardwoods, pink lady slipper and occasionally some rare ginseng, there are grapes growing on the very ground where Benny played as a child. Surrounded by history, folklore and tales both true and tall, exciting things are happening on Parsons soil.

Our vision at Cerminaro Vineyard is simply to share the positive influences that wine has had, not only in our family, but in families throughout history. Through experience and education, we would like to shed some light on the ill perception of wines.

We have a fine selection of dry white and red wines, as well as a series of beautifully crafted low alcohol sweet wines. Making the wines in small quantities and having a full range of sweet wines sets the Weathervane Winery apart from most others.

Our 35,000-square-foot facility at Childress Vineyards is poised to become a destination for visitors and North Carolinians alike. Designed by Winston-Salem, NC architect Kyle Troxell, the stone and stucco building, with its ornate terra cotta roof is inspired by the Italian Renaissance architecture of rural Tuscany. The winery's opulent interiors are the creation of Wolf Design Group in Atlanta, GA.

Banner Elk Winery marks the genesis of the wine tradition in the High Country of North Carolina as the first commercial winery built in Avery and Watauga counties. Processing locally grown grapes into excellent wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the Appalachian Mountains, Dr. Wolfe provides guidance and encouragement to local farmers planting vineyards with the new French-American and American varieties of grapes.
